All-on-4 replaces an entire upper or lower arch of teeth with a fixed bridge supported by four dental implants — two placed toward the front of the jaw and two angled toward the back to engage the bone you still have. It doesn't come out, doesn't need adhesive, and doesn't shift when you eat.

Angled posterior implants engage bone that vertical implants miss. Many patients with decades in a denture still have the anterior bone volume All-on-4 needs.

Usually, yes. Standard implants are placed vertically and need bone height where teeth used to sit — exactly where it's lost first. All-on-4 tilts the two rear implants to reach denser bone toward the front of the jaw. A 3D CT scan at your consultation settles it definitively for your case.
You won't go without teeth. A fixed provisional bridge is attached to the implants at surgery in most cases, so you leave with a full arch already in place. We'll talk through the specifics of your case beforehand.
A new denture costs far less upfront and is the right call for some patients. What it can't do is stop the ridge from shrinking underneath it or give you a bite that doesn't shift. If loose lower dentures or repeated relines are what brought you in, that's usually the deciding factor.
